Another thing is that the CEO said there would be a slight bias to half 2. The "tea-leaves" of this might be interesting, as on one hand we have workers tied up with finishing that utilities project at a loss, not available to provide manpower for other profitable jobs.We have had relative inefficiencies in LLS and similar work function units in SSM while integration has been taking place.
On the other hand if the integration of LLS is complete, then we should be getting extra earnings from synergies, as well as not paying any/much more integration costs that were (mostly) covered in half 1. Staff involved in integration are available for other work, and more productive now hopefully. We also have the far bigger Telecoms div ahead of schedule which bodes well for availability of manpower for new subsequent projects / jobs etc, or to save on hiring requirements. So really SSM should be hitting some payment/revenue milestones earlier, and be managing costs a bit better.
So to me it seems like the underlying bias in earnings and revenue should be more than slight by the sounds of things today. We might have an upgrade to the guidance (language) coming with the HY results.
