For free? You still wouldn't get any takers.
I believe GMD were desperate and the SBM board compliant to get the deal to an asset sale rather that a merger/t/o. Reason being is GMD would have had to show the independent asset valuation which would have shown much of GMD market cap attributable to the RF factor and very little substance apart from that.
