I would highly doubt that. They have nothing to gain from sabotaging the deal.

You have to remember that the company is fairly limited in it's options regarding the gold. As much as they would have preferred to be mining by now, the planning (inclusive of DFS) process took too long and the market has moved. Multiple companies within WA are experiencing labor shortages which in my view is one more reason to abandon the dreams of becoming a mid tier producer.

There are other, more boutique metals that are appealing for them to focus on through their green metal spin-off. I think the BOD will be happy to focus on more exciting ventures available through this new company.
