I'll just add, do you really think companies the world over would issue options just for the fun of it if it wasn't benificial? And likewise, would investors invest in options if their wasn't a potential for a pay off? Of course not!

Your question - "Why would you be holding a speccy explorer if you think there is zero chance of its share price doubling within 3 years??" You'll know the answer to that question when you do your research. - Hint, what if sgq hits the motherlode within that 3 year window, and the sp goes to say $3.50, the investor holding the options to buy a share at 20 cents would be pretty happy wouldn't they?

Here's one of the main reasons, investors participate in options programs. They buy the shares to gain the free options. They then flip their shares to use their capital on another investment, leaving them with the free options as a hedge for any potential upside the company may experience.

Just received an alert on this over hyped stock as it reaches 7 cents again... which is historically the buy price. I have made a lot of money trading this and I notice it's the same people still in this forum trying to hype it up... unbelievable! I am not as bullish to buy it this time round when it touches 7 cents as surely even the true loyalists and propaganda builders must be losing enthusiasm, although having said that there are still a few of you around which may aid a bounce back to 10-11 cents or so for a nice 30-40% profit - standard!
