I personally have met John several times and am in regular communication with him.
For yourself and any new holders may I give a brief outlook on why we believe
@Meteor suggested your timing may be impeccable.
When I first invested the East Laverton tenements are where the exploration was occurring - and there are several highly prospective gold prospects there which are playing second fiddle to the nickel discoveries at Mt Alexander. The Paterson province tenement is new and at early stage.
The expected (potential multi billion dollar) value of the very high grade nickel at Mt Alexander in value terms completely blows all gold prospects out of the water in comparison which is why the focus is nickel, not gold, even in these stronger gold price times.
The Mt Alexander tenements were acquired from BHP and rapidly became the main focus. St George successfully applied for and was granted additional tenements surrounding the initial tenement (E29/638) acquired.
The concepts that were originally being followed were based on BHP's earlier exploration - and BHP thought that the deeper region was predominantly granites. This was one of the main reasons that SGQ proceeded slowly and relied on the geophysical data to generate the EM plate targets - these surveys could not penetrate to the depths that the MT/AMT survey have.
In John's own words to me - the MT/AMT survey has absolutely smashed BHP's theory.
So now we finally have the following key points;
- The geological interpretation is that the shallow discoveries are intrusives thrown up from a source at depth
- The MT/AMT survey indicates multiple anomalies at depth
- There are multiple anomalies at depth
- This is the first drilling campaign to be able to accurately target these anomalies (Yes, it has been a long time coming - but the targetting data was absolutely worth waiting for)
- Further MT/AMT surveys are underway (and will continue in other areas - and there has always been an expectation that there may be parallel belts to the north and south of the Cathedrals belt.
These anomalies could be ferrous, they could be water, they could be many things - you don't need to be Einstein to work out what I think they are.
If we can't join these dots we shouldn't attempt to be dot joiners.
In the longer term I'm still interested to see what an MT/AMT survey over the NNE trending feature named the Western Ultramafics (still in E29/638) to the south of Cathedrals shows - it is just to the east of the NNE trending section of the controlling feature - the IDA Fault - but all of that now requires a lot more survey work which follows on from the main game of identification of what the anomolies at depth are.
So we have what I believe is the most exciting period at Mt Alexander in many years - this is going to take up at least the rest of this year (and will take years to drill out fully) plus we also have;
- Numerous additional Mt Alexander prospects to come
- A virtually untouched Hawaii prospect - which straddles the Ida Fault
- Numerous Gold and Nickel prospects at East Laverton
- Early stage exploration at Patersons province
