lol by definition you have contradicted yourself. You would like to know 'fair value', but don't want to catch a falling knife.
By definition fair value is completely independent of the share price.
So whilst you are prepared to not 'pick the bottom' what you are really asking for is a share price target that you can 'buy into near the bottom'.
And to further twist all this around: Since MFG is a fund manager: You have picked a share where whilst 'fair value' of MFG can be guessed at, remember that it makes its money from the market itself, and hence the market pricing of other shares (and the market pricing of the market as a whole) will impact the 'fair value' of MFG.
