This forum is such a depressing read... it's been mistake after mistake.
The questions are:
Has Hamish lost his investment prowess?
Is it just a series of unfortunate events?
Like in most industries, it's hardly ever the front man who is the brains of the operation. Is it a case of brain drain from Magellan?
Or,
Over 50 years of stats that show active managers can't outperform the market in the long term. That is, even managers who outperform do not have persistence over the long term.
The only thing that seems to be going according to plan is the recent pullback in the markets. Considering Hamish has such a dire outlook - perhaps this is the only thing going according to plan.
