Hi Aw, yes Port Hedland being on the Western Coast certainly offers a lot of advantages to ports on the Southern Coastline, eg Esperance down near the Great Australian Bight. Apart from the extra distance the weather conditions down there must get quite treacherous when those southerly gale force winds come through. One would imagine at times it might be quite difficult to find smaller cargo ships willing to navigate into such treacherous waters, do the salmon trawlers still operate down there? Perhaps difficult to organise ships to pick up loads etc.

So with a well established port at Port Hedland consistent shipments should not be a major issue for AJM, hopefully no shortage of ships to complete our targeted two loads per month. And of course, much closer to our target markets, Australia's a big country, takes a bit of time to sail around to down the bottom of it.
