I believe, as I read back the old announcements, that the decision to the move the plant in Malaysia was done at the request,(insistance), of the Maylasian government. Original site was to be at Kemaman, ann 3/4/07. On 27/8/07 the ann says
"On 24 August 2007 the company received advice from the federal office of the Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA) stating “the Malaysian Government would like to seek your kind consideration for an alternative location for the project." Still at favourable terms.
"Kind consideration"!! Did LYC really have much say in the matter?? Disagree with the government? And how much did it really set them back? Not much I suspect.
Hopefully we'll all be very happy vegemites after the 31st.
