Wow. What an incredible result. I am a bit annoyed at myself for not thinking bigger in regards to Starlight, but if I can cut myself some slack, WGX has not given me much to work with in regards to the open pit potential of Starlight (I had thought it was all to do with U/G).
290k of MRE at 2.2g/t is very high grade for an open pit beside the plant. Hence why they are quickly looking to lock in a plant expansion to, at a guess, 1.5mtpa, which would give them around 5-8 years of open pit mill feed. Which I think roughly equates to 500kt * 2.2g / 31 * 95% recovery = 33.7k extra ounces, which... all things being equal would push Fortnum up to a 100k+ p.a producer with it's 900k-1mtpa of U/G ore at 2.5-3g/t.
Basically... WGX has after 2 years of drilling, extended and expanded the plant/assets to a 6+ mine life at over 100k p.a.
Plus, mine becoming bigger... more efficiencies of scale, larger tonnage from the U/G etc.
Only have to wait a few months to get confirmation that my above speculation is factual or not. Starlight is open and all the nearby deposits still have not had any real attention yet, because Starlight continues to be so easy to find more ouces.
Well done to the whole team, that is an incredible result.
Slightly off topic, but if WGX see this, perhaps fix up the heading of this table, as I believe it is for the entire MRE of the Starlight open/UG.
