Truth and journalism - chalk and cheese. In addition, any person's private life is by nature private and thus media has no business in meddling. Anything for a story - whether it's fantasy or factual in irrelevant - just sell sell sell. Perhaps it's just as well HC offers some anonymity.
The announcement is not company related but of personal nature thus should not even appear on ASX. Sad day when one has to defend or air one's personal affairs in public but even sadder for gutter journalism.
