    Hi Shakespeare

    They use a discount rate of 8% per annum. So for long term mining projects (or any company really) the first years count heavy to the NPV but after 10 or 15 years it has a value of near 0 in terms of NPV. This is obviously not realistic but means there is often more up side then NPV suggest for long LOM projects. Also I don't get 8% interest on my bank account...
