Spot on - the future of vanadium is in redox batteries, because its recyclable after 25 years use, can be completely drained and charged, unlike lithium. They already exist, already work, and provide better options for power storage for utilities or static purposes.
In a country like SA or Australia where the sun shines most of the time, to my mind these things are a no brainer as the costs of implementing come down.
