Those head grades are based n the reef, not the bulk as was targeted previously. The effect of ore sorting on this deposit is remarkable. It is also interesting to ask why calcine is no longer required, and atmospheric cyanidation suddenly works.
However, I will say that the tradeoff here is that FME is proposing a much more complicated flow sheet to chase every single scrap of value, compared to the previous BFS's. It will be interesting to see how their scoping capital costs estimates stack up from this increased complexity, versus the benefits of eliminating a calciner (which would be north of US$60-80M for a 1Mtpa operation). There's also the lower throughput factor that ore sorting produces by reducing mass throughput; smaller kit equals smaller CAPEX.
