Your post makes sense. Nothing in this world is for free. If you get it for nothing that is probably the value.
However it appears from the news items that the finance will be there one way or another without expensive dilution of the shares. The Japanese government appears to be prepared to assist with funding. That could be in the way of a loan or a loan guarantee. The Japenese may also want a stake in the company. I'm okay with that if it is not too large. I doubt if they are in a position to ask for much. Lynas holds the upper hand now, a different scenario to the troubling times of the past.
