Additionally, it seemed interesting to include 'POSCO' in the conversation. Why?
In March this year, Japan and South Korean governments renewed ties in a bilateral summit that aimed to strengthen ties in dealing with geopolitical tensions in the region. Also, it is Japan that has a strategic relationship with the US over the IRA act not South Korea. However, their cooperation means that they can work together to provide the US with 'domestic supply'.
This is not about us fickle shareholders. It seems like a last chance for POSCO (and possibly others) to get their act together before the imminent BAM study is released.
After all, these are public announcements, not the hidden board room battles of a company-on-the-make v the multinationals who need 'secure' supply from a sovereign-trusted country.
BAM study must be coming!
