In a previous post I described ASN’s two projects as “bookends” to American Potash 14,000 hectares. I am still an advocate for ASN to strike a deal with American Potash. The previous failed JV deal allowed them to pursue their Potash dream (US imports over 90%) while the partner pursued the Lithium.
About 25 years ago I was an International banker active in Latin America. At that time, I met some folks trying to move forward Chile’s Lithium exports which were at best a footnote. Still, it was clear to them that full control of the Salar was the best way to go. For perspective, the recent M&A activity in Argentina shows the result of fragmented ownership.
