Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Western Australia’s (CCIWA) call to overturn the state uranium
mining ban3. A study highlighted by the Chamber has shown that Western Australia alone could produce
more than A$1bn in revenue a year3. In addition, the WA Liberal Leader Libby Mettam has pledged if
elected next year to overturn the WA Labor Government’s 2017 ban4. Directives on the nature of uranium
exploration in Western Australia by the DMP emphasise that uranium exploration itself is not banned5."
