Thinking loud, I believe the stake in Mavis is a payment for the developers to stay with them for some time.
It seems that MAVIS has developed very good software with 7 employees!. I am not saying that the software is bad, but paying them 2m for the 20% of the Company, leads me to think that MAVIS asked for this money in order to stay with them. There are other players in the market that would use MAVIS software. However, MAVIS knows that ATOMOS needs its software. Otherwise, the value of ATOMOS new product portfolio is worth 0!
This is not a surprise for me, given that they did the same thing with TimeCode 2 years ago (and with another capital increase!)
