I'm generally not a fan of buying a company rather than just buying the service they provide. I could see the logic when WEB bought Destinations of the World, as it quickly increased their global footprint. But I can't see the necessity in buying a stake in Roomdex. It's a good product to improve WebBeds but the technology doesn't seem too complicated, so I can't see the competitive advantage in buying the company rather than the product.

Personally, I'd prefer to see WEB developing its own software as it did with Rezchain, in concert with Microsoft. That was a really smart move and good partnership, showing that WEB has the ability to build these kind of technology solutions themselves.
