Yeah the Asian Renewable Energy hub is a massive endeavour, located right there in the Pilbara hence the Calix electric calciner becomes viable.... Link that in with Green Hydrogen generation which can be utilised by our boilers and you'll have worlds best ESG LCE credentials. I suspect even surpassing the still unproven at scale geothermal route.
WA is offering huge incentives to attract mid/downstream industry to the region to evolve from the former model of just dig it and ship it... You can see where PLS is thinking with Calix and beyond the POSCO JV.
They'd be mad not to be thinking of their own processor up there in the Pilbara. Sodium Sulphate production though would be a big problem, let's eliminate that. We can easily (with $) integrate a sulphuric acid plant to P2 & 3 as was originally envisaged, sodium silicate to the mining/construction industry locally as a cement additive, gypsum for local mine remediation, ship out the high value products and we're swinging for the bleachers.
