Having said that though, it is also very possible to see a party offer to take over all gold operations. Assuming that the price offered is substantial we could see the company divest of the gold assets, issue a special dividend to all shareholders, leaving the company as a shell with the magnesium asset as well as a portion of the funds to perhaps acquire other "green metal" potential.

Thinking about this further, i think this is actually very positive for BDC. We remove the substantial dilution that would have come with the funds required for the build, skip the commissioning and associated risks whilst allowing simultaneous monetisation across several assets. I'm starting to see this a big advantage for the group.
