OBM has been suggested as a merger option by some. Norton as a possible buyer of the project or a deal on the refractory ore has also previously been mentioned.
Another within trucking distance is BCN. They may look at a merger to sure up their long term future. Their m/c is about the same as BDC and they are making a profit from lower grade ore than that of BDC. Their plant isn't huge so with a 3moz+ resource, they would then probably need to expand the throughput to take advantage of the larger mineral resource a merger would bring.
An interesting but useless fact: OBM's plant was once located at Bardoc before being relocated in the 1990s to Davyhurst.
