It’s all very well to point out the tremendous growth in the production of EVs globally. But this doesn’t solve CXO’s immediate problem of a falling Li price. The facts are that the cost price of Li produced by CXO is around $1200/T whereas PLS has a cost of $635/t. This may not take into account the problems of the current wet season in the NT. Unfortunately only the strong will survive and CXO has taken the path to dormancy for the time-being which acknowledges the current Li price of around A$1000/t. This would appear to be a sensible move.
