maybe rather than referring to classes of people it is better to think about the majority - because that is that drives the economy.
This says that in 2022 there were 782 vehicles per 1000 people (including children). Clearly then the average family has 2. Between 5% to 10% are replaced each year. So it seems to me the average australian family can easily afford to have one of the two as an EV. And it is happening anyway - got to be blind not to see it.
