It does sound like a good idea but in reality the two parts of the bank are not allowed to share information. Insider trading laws are enforced and IB's have too much to lose. I'd be very surprised if any IB is investing house money in HIO at this MC and Vega. In this sector, banks don't mine, they facilitate debt so we can buy the picks and shovels. Very rare for an IB to be exposed.
