Not too sure they could sell them but they could no doubt "factor" the income.
Businesses can raise cash by selling their unpaid invoices to a Factor for about 80 (?)% of the face value of invoices. So they could sell their right to future income no doubt. (I don't think that third party gas has much longer to run anyway has it?)
