Was in Woolies today and saw the My Eco range of bags displayed fairly prominently.
What concerned me was they are beside and below a whole range of "Glad" branded bags. The Glad bags are significantly cheaper BUT if one reads the label they range from 35% compostible material to 50% to 90%...I think that is pathetic. Why would I want ANY non compostible material in a bag that is to be composted ?
However the average numb brained consumer would see the Glad bag , brand they know and packaged as if it was compostible (Bio Bag written all over it) and think "why pay twice the price for the My-Eco product.
I am certainly not suggesting SES discounts to meet the "Glad" range.
It does concern me though. May be harder to win market share than I hoped.
