    The best and most honest answer would be- frenetically taking profits on a poor performer like WBC adds up but it would be far better in the long run to buy and hold a well performing stock. The tax system favors franked dividends.

    I have been investing for three years- doing alright- but not beating any index or whatever- for all the frenetic profit taking getting the message that it is better to just buy and collect franked dividends and hold for long term compounding price increases.
