You are criticising the plan, with the benefit of hindsight, and the benefit of knowing exactly how the costs and prices panned out, a YEAR later.
You are basing your latest "better option" on guesswork relating to contracts and it apparently being viable to simply stockpile until better days. Ask the company - instead of assuming they are a bunch of taxi drivers trying to operate a lithium mine. (no offence to any taxi drivers btw).
