WMC then buyers BHP have been in the Kambalda region since 1963, this is where the Ni industry in Aust was born. BHP sold off all the operating underground mines in 2006 to companies PAN, MCR, IGO and a few other players. Theyvall sold their raw ore to BHP to process thru the Kambalda Concentrator which they still own.
MCR are a miner and don't own a concentrator. BHP still have first rights to ore processing as feed to their Kalgoorlie Smelter then to the Kwinana refinery till next year and hopefully MCR negotiate a good rate for continuing OT.
