If Mt Isa copper operations closes in 2026, then the workforce that isn't relocated to other Glencore Pb Zn operations would be leaving Mt Isa and seeking FIFO work elsewhere, or looking at relocating to Central QLD if coal is still going well there. Too far to DIDO from Maronan Mine site to Mt Isa daily, especially after a 12 hour shift, so they will have to build accommodation somewhere closer - approx 2hr 14 mins drive from Maronan to Mt Isa, so that would make for a 16 hour day. If you are going to build accommodation and a camp for a 7 days on 7 off or 8 days on 6 rostered workforce then you may as well do FIFO to access the greater labour pool in Cairns, Townsville and Brisbane......of course for residents of Mt Isa then DIDO for a 7-7 or an 8-6 roster would be feasible but there is no escaping the fact of distances involved, going to have to build accommodation in Cloncurry or on-site.

I think 2026 is a bit optimistic to get Maronan financed and the mining lease permitted and construction done.
