Re Cadia Valley, also re wall rock porphyry deposits, these are 2 separate extracts from the report 12 April 23 on Bottletree.
# Wall Rock-Hosted Mineralisation
Previously reported drill holes BTDD004 1 and SBTRD006 2 are now confirmed to have intersected extensive vein mineralisation within the wall rocks (Figure 1). In some settings (e.g., Cadia Valley, NSW) porphyry-style vein mineralisation developed within the wall rocks may attain economic Cu-Mo-Au grades and be regarded as Wallrock Porphyry deposits (Newcrest, 1996). ................ Continued exploration will evaluate the Cu mineralisation within the wall rocks for its potential to develop into Wallrock Porphyry style ore systems.
# Bottletree porphyry targets
..................Drilling of Porphyry Target F has resulted in the discovery of the Bottletree wall rock-hosted porphyry vein mineralisation and hydrothermal alteration.
Now to Cockie Creek and yesterday's announcement. This is an extract that, once again, mentions wall rock porphyry
PORPHYRY Cu-Au-Molybdenite TARGET AT COCKIE
...............................The mineralisation identified by the historic drilling potentially represents leakage into the wall rocks of a nearby mineralised porphyry system. As appears to be the case at Bottletree, the likely wall rock-hosted mineralisation at Cockie Creek represents a potentially significant outcropping copper resource. Copper grades are relatively high in porphyry deposit terms (Table 1), with historic results indicating increasing grades at depth. In addition, a significant zone of gold (3m @ 9.0 g/t Au from 80m) in historic hole CRC003 was returned just short of the western chargeable zone.
This is the relevant extract from the link I gave (Portergeo).
Cadia East
There are five components to the Cadia porphyry system within the mineralised corridor, namely:
................
(ii) Volcanic wall rock hosted disseminated and sheeted vein mineralisation at Cadia East within moderately to strongly altered lavas and volcaniclastic breccias. .................

Back to Cockie Creek, Bottletree and Wyandotte. SPQ is in the process of working out what they containand what the genesis of the mineralisation is in each case, but so far the signs are that they are porphyries and are geologically related to Cadia valley in NSW. It is all very promising. It is still early days to a certain extent, but the potential for something big and special being found in what PH calls the Greenvale Lucky Creek Corridor is there. Could it be another Cadia Valley? That is what excites me! Stay tuned, even the doubtors.
