Speaking on day one of Resources Rising Stars, Sunstone managing director Malcolm Norris said he was getting asked almost daily when the company was going to drill.

He explained that the delay was due to the slow permitting process in Ecuador as the government struggled to cope with the influx of explorers.

"Ecuador is absolutely booming," Norris said.

Norris believes the permit will be issued imminently.

"We're extremely bullish about what's ahead of us," he said.

"We firmly believe we're on the cusp of a major discovery in Ecuador."

The drilling will include three diamond holes at the Limon target.

Trenching results released from Limon today included 97.6m at 0.71 grams per tonne gold and 0.23% copper.
