I would argue that getting many new institutional investors on the register who will continue to accumulate very large positions on market, as opposed to more retail investors who do nothing for the share price, is most certainly in the best interest of shareholders. That's just my view of course, I always prefer institutional investors over retail though (even if that means I don't get to buy shares at the raise price)
