Why would them purchasing units at a discount be accretive to NTA. Sure, that makes sense for buybacks, where units are bought back at a discount and wiped.
But not for a company buying discounted LICs.
That would assume the company is booking the funds they buy (value wise) at NTA?
Why would they do this, when the NTA is merely theoretical. The value is the share price.
That would be like me booking my investments in closed funds at NTA value, which completely misrepresents their available value on market.
So no, it's not accretive to their NTA. They are just another punter hoping the share price goes up.
