The BOD of most companies will never Place stock to a broker etc if they believe the stock will come out on day 1 of the new shares being issued. But it almost always happens, simply because you can't know what those investors circumstances are, their motivations, and how the general market has changed in the previous few sessions.
The only way to offset the predicament is to have news come out very soon after the new issue, but that's unusual.
From my own position I will accept it might drop a little, wait for it to stabilise (which is a difficult call nowadays with the way the Bots work) and I'll buy more. Why - because I believe its fantastic value at around the current price.
I do like those bigger sophs already in the stock - they won't be selling out at the current price IMO, and I like the fact the BOD want more stock too - they definitely aren't able to sell a single share without informing the market. They are there for the long term!
