    Quite a few years ago now I remember reading a news article regarding Olympic Dam that quoted BHP as saying the mine was worth $1 TRILLION!!! $1,000,000,000,000!!!
    I've since wondered whether they were referring to the combined value of economic metals, or NPV, it was a fairly vague remark, but the point about it was that these IOCG deposits have huge economic metal accumulations.
    And Flinders, considered an IOCG deposit as well, has been historically mined for both Cu and iron, from surface mineralisation. What lies deeper is anyone's guess (all the other significant IOCG deposits in the belt tend to have most mineralisation below 250 - 300 metres of cover).
