Would have to think stumps contain a high concentration of resinous material, given they are the "heart" of the tree.
Optimisation of transport costs, given organic matter in the form of soil, and low yielding roots, are now being left in the forest is a large benefit, as well as the fact that aforementioned plant expansion is now able to be achieved through use of the stumps, rather than finding additional feedstock in the form of trees, is also a big win.
For my money, management are delivering on their objectives, and updates like these are very welcome.
