I understand servers are co-located and have algos running off them - what I am saying is that a FIX connection to the ASX trading servers - does not give you additional information on when the random close auction will happen - due to the fact that it is randomized to 60 seconds.
The below link gives you the full specification for the ASX fix implementation - have a look and come back to me where it provides a return message telling the co-located systems (or any others using the FIX protocol) when the market is closing.
