without knowing the logistics of how a drilling company works I would have thought that they would have spare parts on site.

wouldn't that be more cost effective for everyone if they held replacement stock on site in case of issues occurring. Several days of downtime would be pretty costly I would imagine.

I realise they couldn't keep a replacement of every part but perhaps the ones most likely to need replacing?

we are talking a multi million dollar drilling campaign over multiple sites.

just curious, not meaning to be overly critical here.
