That is true sowens. Definitely an option….but I don’t think sending LiCl to China for processing fits within Lake’s aspirations to be a part of a “non-China” supply chain. It may well have been a solid consideration prior to the geopolitical shift regarding the concerns around 80-90% of processing being based in China…..but not now. Might be a different story if there was processing capacity on the ground in Argentina (outside of our own Kachi project)……but IMO, that is many years away.

China has been the big growth story in EV’s to this point - but North America and Europe will be the growth story of the future. It might take a few more years yet, but the forecast uptake in EV’s in say North America projected from 2028/2030 onwards is going to demand a lot more Lithium than is going there today…..and where is all of this IRA compliant, “non-China” Lithium going to come from….and how much are the US OEM’s and Battery Manufacturers going to be prepared to pay for it? Watch the US/Argentina supply chain get bedded down and formalised and you will see the puzzle pieces start falling into place from there.
