    Assuming it wasn't the same few bored people selling and buying their own stock for fun, a few million shares were sold presumably by either people desperate to buy food or taking a profit to go someplace else they see a bigger/faster return. Unlikely anyone is selling this good news stock at a loss, in the absence of any bad news. Yes?

    They sold to people who (again assuming rationality) think the stock is worth holding. They are unlikely to sell in the short-term for less than today's SP ... actually, given costs of buying e.g brokerage, their time and opportunity costs, they are unlikely to sell any time soon for under today's SP + $x.

    Nutshell: Reasonable to assume sideways movement represents a net increase in 'hold' sentiment and a stronger SP 'floor' than yesterday.

    Look hard enough not difficult to detect moisture in even an empty glass.
