Ie
we send (sell) 315 k tonnes to POSCO and they refine it, sell it and PLS gets 30%?
we send 315 k tonnes to new JV (PLS choosing amongst the 70 offers)
and push the remain 370 k tonnes through a solar powered calcinator ?
These imaginings are nice but unrealistic for now.
The CXL calcinator will not be able to handle anything like that quantity for a quite a few years. One could assume there will expansions of that facility if the demonstration plant proves successful.
But for a few more years shipping of 5.3% spod to China seems unavoidable.
Praps Albanese and WA govt can get a Battery factory up and running in WA in double quick time? And PLS could would redirect its Spod there if the price is right. But that seems a fantasy right now. BUT IT SHOULDN'T.
