No evidence Woody, unfortunately we are no longer provided with regular announcements - outside of paid interviews - that provide transparency on what is actually occurring, so this was just one of the thoughts that came up when reviewing this announcement.
I’ve been doubtful of the 100k ounces per annum claim for 2022 since they advised that Q2’s forecast would be the same as Q1’s, as it is a significant jump from that run-rate (even if we only achieve a pro-rata rate from Q4’s result).
I would not be surprised if MA has crafted this announcement as a precursor to covering for any shortfall come Q4, unfortunately - and this is my opinion only - MA seems to use spin as opposed to being upfront with shareholders and taking ownership of mistakes/delays (demerger delay etc).
