Well, the deposit is in Slovakia. I don't think the FIRB would intervene anyway, since we're talking about Gold and not Lithium (like they intervened with AVZ). The FIRB's focus is critical minerals and not precious metals.
Also important to remember that Australia's relations with China have considerably improved post Covid with all tariffs now removed or set to be removed. The FIRB wouldn't want to rock the boat.
But yes, there is a lot that doesn't smell right.
