At current mining rates, Indonesia’s nickel reserves will be depleted in about 6 years, according to the Indonesian Nickel Miners Association on 2 October 2023. A more optimistic estimate by Japanese-invested Nickel Asia Corp is 9 years. indonesia have approx half the worlds current nickel output.
and if we consider that nickel output would have to increase by over 500% in 2030 to make 2050 net zero targets, i don't know where it is coming from.
