1) only really makes sense if you're capital constrained. With 1), you're also going to incur capital gains tax from selling (ABB listed <1 year ago) but if you held for another few months your IPO shares would be eligible for CGT discount.
If your exit price is $10 and you have the capital available, I would suggest 2) as well.
