A very good post Candidcamera and you highlight the difficulty small co's have in progressing to production. There are many, many stranded resource assets out there where the co's have proven up a resource but it's not quite commercially robust enough to warrant development, attract the necessary funding etc.

I recall watching a presentation by an industry veteran and he stressed that a key investment criteria for small resource investors should be 'A clear pathway to production.' IMO he was bang on the money because many of the existing resources owned by co's on the ASX have been known about for years and years and even decades however these resources have never been developed as they are marginal and not commercially viable.
