I am intrigued by
"The Jurassic Sandstone unit intersected at SE2 was observed to be high quality with 76m of net reservoir with an average porosity of 18% and a maximum porosity of 24%"
If this Jurassic is continuous across the SE with 18% voids over a depth of 76 metres then it is indeed, a very large volume.
The question is what are the voids currently filled with?
If it is just air and this air is under considerable pressure then, Is it worth releasing this pressure before using the Jurassic for CCS? It is noted that air under pressure contains stored energy much of which can be recovered by, for example, releasing the pressure through a turbine.
I don't think Strike would use any of its much-needed funds for such a project. However, because it is in the public good would there be any chance of getting the WA government to drill wells into the Jurassic for the purposes of pressure relief? Strike would benefit from the kudos of helping the environment and would have wells ready to go when, and if, they start with CCS.
Do I have to much time on my hands?
